Founded in 1926 by the Maryknoll Sisters of New York, Miriam College is a premier Filipino Catholic educational institution headquartered in Quezon City. Originally known as the Malabon Normal School and later Maryknoll College, it was renamed in 1989 to reflect its unique identity while honoring its Maryknoll legacy. The institution is primarily recognized as a leading women's college, though its pre-elementary, graduate, and adult education programs are co-educational.

Miriam College is distinguished by its commitment to academic excellence and social transformation, holding autonomous status from the Commission on Higher Education. It serves as a Center of Excellence in Teacher Education, Business Administration, and Entrepreneurship. Beyond its main Katipunan campus, the school has expanded with satellite campuses in Nuvali, Laguna, and Alviera, Pampanga.

Guided by the core values of Truth, Justice, Peace, and the Integrity of Creation, the college integrates strong academic programs with specialized advocacy centers. These include the Center for Peace Education and the Women and Gender Institute. As a recognized "Dark Green School," Miriam College emphasizes environmental sustainability and design-oriented education, fostering principled leaders who are globally competitive and deeply rooted in Filipino culture and Christian service.
