Mapua University
Founded in 1925 by Tomas Mapúa, the first registered Filipino architect, Mapúa University is the premier engineering and technological institution in the Philippines. With its main campus in the historic Intramuros district of Manila and a satellite campus in Makati, the university has built a century-long reputation for academic excellence and innovation. It is recognized globally, consistently ranking among the top universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings and holding a 4-star rating from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
Mapúa is a pioneer in international accreditation, being the first school in Southeast Asia to have its engineering and computing programs accredited by ABET. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has designated numerous Mapúa programs as Centers of Excellence, including Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Environmental Engineering, as well as Information Technology.
The university recently strengthened its global standing through a strategic partnership with Arizona State University, offering students world-class curriculum, dual-degree opportunities, and access to a global network. Known for its rigorous "Quarterm" system and cutting-edge digital learning through Mapúa ÚOx, the institution prepares students to be globally competitive, research-driven, and socially responsible leaders who consistently top professional licensure examinations.
