University Of Perpetual Help System Dalta
The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) is one of the most prominent and comprehensive private universities in Metro Manila, founded on February 5, 1975 by Dr./BGen. Antonio Laperal Tamayo and Dr. Daisy Moran Tamayo as the Perpetual Help College of Rizal (PHCR). Its main campus is located along Alabang-Zapote Road in Las Piñas City, and the institution has since expanded to include branches in Molino and Calamba. In 1997, PHCR was elevated to university status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and in 2017 received the prestigious Autonomous Status recognition.
UPHSD is widely recognized for its excellence in healthcare and allied medical sciences, offering programs in Nursing, Medicine, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Radiological Technology, Dentistry, and Respiratory Therapy, among others. The university has been honored by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) for having one of the highest numbers of accredited programs in the country. In addition to health sciences, UPHSD offers comprehensive degree programs in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Accountancy, Education, Information Technology, Criminology, and the Arts.
The university accommodates a student population of approximately 14,000 and employs around 1,370 teaching and non-teaching staff across its Las Piñas campus. UPHSD also maintains Basic Education programs from Kindergarten through Senior High School, providing a complete educational ladder from early childhood to post-graduate studies within a single institution. Guided by its principle of 'Character Building is Nation Building,' UPHSD remains deeply committed to developing competent, values-driven graduates who contribute meaningfully to national development and global progress.
