Divine Light Academy (DLA) began in 1977 as Kiddies Learning Center (KLC), a small preschool founded by Mrs. Leonila Sese in her family home in Las Piñas. Recognizing the need for early childhood education in the growing residential communities, she left her job to start a neighborhood school with just over 40 preschoolers.
As Las Piñas developed into a thriving city, KLC steadily expanded. By 1982, it opened its grade school department and transferred to a larger campus. In 1988, during its 10th anniversary and the graduation of its first grade school batch, the school was renamed Divine Light Academy, reflecting its growth and stronger mission.
DLA continued to expand, opening a Cavite campus in 1994 and launching its high school department in 1998. Over the years, the school invested in modern facilities, technology, and faculty development while strengthening its spiritual and community-centered mission.
Today, with nearly 3,000 students, Divine Light Academy stands as one of the leading basic education institutions in Southern Metro Manila—recognized not only for academic excellence but also for its commitment to faith, service, and community.
